Pitham to make Boro return
DANNY Pitham will return to the Nuneaton Town side for the visit of Hednesford Town tonight, kick-off 7.45pm.
The central defender has not played since October due to an ankle injury originally suffered in a pre-season friendly against AFC Telford United.
However, he has since undergone surgery on the problem and will start his comeback in the Red Insure Cup quarter-final tie.
Manager Kevin Wilkin said: “Danny will start the game. I’m pleased to have him back.
“(Physio) Paul Egan is happy for Danny to play so we’ll see how it goes.
“He is a naturally fit boy. He needs to work on his lungs but this is a chance for him to start getting back into it.
“We’ll gauge his fitness for league games after the game. I’m not going to make any promises on him.
“Like I say, we’ll see how it goes for him.”
Boro’s other long term injury worry Matty Collins will not feature as he continues to battle a knee injury.
However, Wilkin has made it clear that anyone who did not start Saturday’s 3-0 win at Rugby Town will play.
That list includes strikers Rob Foster and Lee Moore, left-backs Simon Forsdick and Ed Matthews and attacking midfielder Paul Spacey. Midfielder Michael Jacobs will make his full debut.
“Anyone who didn’t play on Saturday will be involved. I’m looking for a response from all of them.
“A lot of times the window to impress the manager can be a whole lot smaller than this.
“They can’t mutter about not being fit or ready because I expect them all to look after themselves fitness wise.
“We want to win the game. There can’t be any excuses.
“The team will be a little jumbled together but even so we are looking to win the game like any other,” he said.
Wilkin has not decided which senior players he will rest but he will not be calling on the services of Nuneaton Griff trio of Alex Dean, Craig Henderson and Lee Smith.
They hold dual registration but will not needed tonight.
BORO FROM: Acton, Oddy, Forsdick, Matthews, Nisevic, Dean, Hadland, Pitham, Pierpoint, Noon, Jacobs, Storer, Armson, Spacey, Dillon, Moore, Foster, Marsden
BORO’S Zamaretto League Premier Division game against Banbury has been brought forward to this Friday night, kick-off 7.45pm.
The two teams will meet again on Monday night in the Birmingham Senior Cup, kick-off 7.45pm.
The game at Tiverton has been put back to Thursday March 25.
The home game against Cambridge City will now take place on Wednesday April 7.
The home game against Didcot Town will now take place in the final week of the season.
NUNEATON Town’s youth team were beaten 3-1 by AFC Telford United in their most recent home game.
Aaron Francis got the Boro goal after being set up by a great break from Luke Taylor.
The last time the two teams met Telford had won 8-1.

If he can stay fit then it's good news. Definitely needed an extra defender so if he is the cover we need then excellent.
